AI Data Use Policy

What this policy covers:
This policy explains how the Stella AI companion works, what health data she can access, how that data is processed by the Google Gemini API, and your rights over your AI conversation data. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. What Is Stella?

Stella is an AI companion, not a healthcare professional.

She is designed to listen, reflect patterns from your logs, help you prepare for appointments, and provide emotional support. She cannot diagnose conditions, recommend medications, interpret test results, or replace professional medical care.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.

Stella is a feature within the MyEndo application, powered by the Google Gemini API — a large language model (LLM) developed and operated by Google LLC, integrated directly into MyEndo via the Gemini API. Every conversation you have with Stella involves a real-time request sent directly to the Google Gemini API.

2. How Stella Works — Technical Flow

When you send a message to Stella, here is exactly what happens:

Important: Stella reads from your device, not from the cloud.

When Stella accesses your symptom log context, she reads from the logs stored locally on your device — not from the Supabase cloud database. This is a deliberate design decision to minimize how much of your health data travels to third-party AI infrastructure.

Your full cloud database record is never accessed or transmitted during a Stella conversation.

Based on the Google Gemini API Terms of Service:

4.2 AI Model Training
Google does not use data submitted via the Gemini API to train or fine-tune its public AI models without explicit permission from the API customer. Econik Lifestyle Inc. has not granted Google permission to use your conversation data for model training.

This is an important distinction from the consumer-facing Gemini app at gemini.google.com, where data may be used for training unless opted out. MyEndo uses the Gemini API under stricter, separate terms.

4.3 Human Review
Authorized Google employees may review prompts and responses flagged by automated safety systems, solely for policy enforcement. Flagged data may be retained by Google for up to 3 years for enforcement purposes.

We recommend you do not include your full name, phone number, or other directly identifying contact details in Stella conversations beyond what is needed for symptom discussion.

8. Your Rights Over AI Conversation Data

8.1 Access and Export
Your Stella conversation history is included in the full data export available via Profile > Data & Privacy > Export My Data.

8.2 Deletion
Delete your Stella conversation history via Profile > Data & Privacy > Delete My Data. This permanently removes records from our Supabase database within 30 days. Google may retain prompt data for up to 55 days per their abuse monitoring policy, independent of our deletion.

8.3 Opting Out of Stella Entirely
Stella is fully optional. No data is sent to the Google Gemini API unless you actively open the Stella tab and send a message. You can use all other MyEndo features without ever using Stella.

We may update this AI Data Use Policy as Stella evolves, as the Google Gemini API terms change, or as applicable laws develop. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app notification with the updated Effective Date shown at the top of this document.
