What this policy covers:
This policy explains how the Stella AI companion works, what health data she can access, how that data is processed by the Google Gemini API, and your rights over your AI conversation data. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What Is Stella?
Stella is an AI companion, not a healthcare professional.
She is designed to listen, reflect patterns from your logs, help you prepare for appointments, and provide emotional support. She cannot diagnose conditions, recommend medications, interpret test results, or replace professional medical care.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
Stella is a feature within the MyEndo application, powered by the Google Gemini API — a large language model (LLM) developed and operated by Google LLC, integrated directly into MyEndo via the Gemini API. Every conversation you have with Stella involves a real-time request sent directly to the Google Gemini API.
2. How Stella Works — Technical Flow
When you send a message to Stella, here is exactly what happens:
- You type a message in the Stella chat interface inside the app.
- The app reads a formatted summary of your recent symptom logs from your device local storage — not from our Supabase cloud database. This local data gives Stella context about your health history.
- A prompt is constructed containing: Stella system instructions, your formatted symptom log context from your device, and your typed message.
- This prompt is sent over an encrypted connection directly to the Google Gemini API.
- Google servers process the prompt and return a text response.
- The response is displayed in the Stella chat interface. The conversation is also saved to your account record in Supabase so your chat history persists across sessions.
Important: Stella reads from your device, not from the cloud.
When Stella accesses your symptom log context, she reads from the logs stored locally on your device — not from the Supabase cloud database. This is a deliberate design decision to minimize how much of your health data travels to third-party AI infrastructure.
Your full cloud database record is never accessed or transmitted during a Stella conversation.
3. What Data Is Sent to Google Gemini
3.1 Data That Is Transmitted
Each time you send a message to Stella, the following is included in the request to the Google Gemini API:
- Your typed message to Stella
- Conversation history from the current session to maintain context
- A structured summary of your recent symptom logs from your device including pain levels, symptom types, flare records, cycle timing, and what helped
- Stella system prompt — the instructions defining her tone and behaviour. These do not contain your personal information.
3.2 Data That Is NOT Transmitted to Google
- Your email address
- Your full Supabase cloud account record
- Your payment information or subscription details
- Any data you have not entered into the application yourself
- Your device location data
4. How Google Handles Your Data
4.1 Data Retention by Google
Based on the Google Gemini API Terms of Service:
- Abuse monitoring: Google retains prompts and responses sent via the Gemini API for up to 55 days solely to detect violations of Google Prohibited Use Policy. This is independent of our own deletion processes.
- In-memory caching: Google may cache prompt data in RAM for up to 24 hours to reduce latency. This is not persistent disk storage.
- After the 55-day window, Google deletes retained prompt data per their standard schedules.
4.2 AI Model Training
Google does not use data submitted via the Gemini API to train or fine-tune its public AI models without explicit permission from the API customer. Econik Lifestyle Inc. has not granted Google permission to use your conversation data for model training.
This is an important distinction from the consumer-facing Gemini app at gemini.google.com, where data may be used for training unless opted out. MyEndo uses the Gemini API under stricter, separate terms.
4.3 Human Review
Authorized Google employees may review prompts and responses flagged by automated safety systems, solely for policy enforcement. Flagged data may be retained by Google for up to 3 years for enforcement purposes.
We recommend you do not include your full name, phone number, or other directly identifying contact details in Stella conversations beyond what is needed for symptom discussion.

5. How Econik Lifestyle Stores Stella Data
Stella conversation messages are stored in our Supabase database under your account so chat history persists across sessions and devices. This data is:
- Stored under your unique account, not accessible to other users
- Protected by row-level security at the database level
- Encrypted at rest and in transit
- Never shared with any third party for advertising or marketing
- Permanently deleted when you delete your account or use the in-app deletion feature
6. Stella Safety Constraints
Stella behaviour is governed by a system prompt with strict operational boundaries that cannot be overridden by user messages. Stella is configured to:
- Never diagnose any medical condition or suggest a symptom pattern constitutes a diagnosis
- Never recommend specific medications, dosages, supplements, or clinical treatments
- Never interpret clinical test results, lab values, or imaging findings
- Always use qualified language such as "some people find..." rather than directive statements
- Always redirect acute or emergency symptoms to professional medical care
- Frame all pattern observations as informational and never conclusive
7. What Stella Can and Cannot Do

8. Your Rights Over AI Conversation Data
8.1 Access and Export
Your Stella conversation history is included in the full data export available via Profile > Data & Privacy > Export My Data.
8.2 Deletion
Delete your Stella conversation history via Profile > Data & Privacy > Delete My Data. This permanently removes records from our Supabase database within 30 days. Google may retain prompt data for up to 55 days per their abuse monitoring policy, independent of our deletion.
8.3 Opting Out of Stella Entirely
Stella is fully optional. No data is sent to the Google Gemini API unless you actively open the Stella tab and send a message. You can use all other MyEndo features without ever using Stella.
9. Limitations of AI Technology
- AI can be wrong. Stella responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation.
- AI does not have medical training. Stella responses should never substitute for clinical judgment.
- AI does not know your full medical history. Stella sees only what you share and the device log context. She has no access to your medical records or medications unless you tell her.
- AI may reflect biases. Large language models can reflect biases in their training data. Report any dismissive or inappropriate responses.
- AI is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harm ideation, or any mental health crisis, contact a crisis line or emergency services immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AI Data Use Policy as Stella evolves, as the Google Gemini API terms change, or as applicable laws develop. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app notification with the updated Effective Date shown at the top of this document.
